Baby Shower Games No.20
Baby Scattergories
Baby Scattergories is a take on the traditional game of
Scattergories.
Ideally, you should have the 'alphabet dice' that comes from the
Scattergories box, but if you don't have it, you can easily make your
own alphabet by writing each letter on a separate piece of paper and
then putting them in a bag or hat for someone to randomly pick out.
How To Play:
Each contestant is given a card with the same list of categories printed
on it. The alphabet dice is thrown, or a letter is picked out of a hat.
Using a timer, everyone has to fill in the list of categories with a
word that starts with the letter that has been chosen.
Everyone must stop when the timer runs out, or sooner if someone
finishes their completing their list of words.
For example, the letter B is picked/thrown.
And with these categories on the card, the following words could be
written:
Baby clothing = Bib
Baby food = Banana (mashed)
Baby name (girl) = Briana
Baby name (boy) = Bryson
Name of a school = St Bernadette's
A baby toy = Bear
A practical baby item = Bassinette
A word associated with babies: Burp
A word associated with pregnancy: Bump
How to Score:
2 points for an answer that no one else has
1 point for an answer that someone else has
Winner:
The winner of the round is the person with the most points. Determine
beforehand how many rounds you will play. The overall winner is the
person with the most accumulated points.
